A Quiet Start in Frankfurt
We started the morning with a quiet walk through Frankfurt, the winter air cool and refreshing. The plan for the day was simple, a relaxed river cruise and an easy pace through the city.
Main River Cruise
We boarded a Main River cruise, watching the city drift by through wide glass windows. Bridges, riverside paths, and the tall spire of Dreikönigskirche reflected softly on the water. It felt calm and unhurried, a nice pause in the middle of the trip.
Eiserner Steg and River Views
After the cruise, we crossed Eiserner Steg, the iron bridge lined with love locks. We paused for a while, taking in the open river views while our daughter looked through the colourful locks one by one.
Lunch at Städel Museum
By midday, we made our way to the Städel Museum for a late lunch. The meal was warm and comforting, a small treat after the cold morning. The steak was one of the best we’ve had, and our daughter loved the ice cream.
After lunch, we explored the galleries at an easy pace, moving between classic and modern works.
Evening at the Christmas Market
On our way back, we passed through the Christmas market, now lively in the evening light. The wooden stalls, festive music, and warm snacks brought a different energy to the city. It felt cozy and unhurried, the kind of place you naturally linger.
