The Journey Begins
This winter, we travelled to Austria, drawn by its Alpine landscapes, timeless cities, and the quiet magic of the season. Along the way, we also crossed briefly into Slovakia before ending our trip in Munich. But Austria stayed with us the most, not for how much we saw, but for how it made us feel.
Day 1: Arrival in Austria
We began our journey with an early morning flight from Singapore, the kind where time feels blurred between takeoff and landing. By the time we arrived in Vienna in the afternoon, winter had already settled in — quiet, crisp, and welcoming.
A smooth transfer brought us to our hotel, where we would stay for the next five nights. The check-in process was simple and completely contactless — just a code, a locker, and everything ready for us.
Our suite was spacious and warm, with a small balcony that quickly became our favourite corner.
In the quiet of the late afternoon, we stood there for a while, looking out at unfamiliar buildings and listening to a city we had just arrived in.
After a long journey, it was exactly what we needed. Not to explore, not to rush, just to pause, breathe, and slowly ease into the rhythm of Austria.
Our first quiet moment in Vienna.
