Three passports and a shared habit of wandering.
Our first trip together as a family of three happened when our daughter was just seven months old — bottles to time, naps to plan around, a stroller that never quite fit. Somewhere between the delays and the diaper changes, we realised we liked this: figuring out a new city together, slowly, as a family. We've never chased a strict budget or five-star luxury — just the experience itself, spending where it makes a day richer and skipping what doesn't.
Since then, we've made our way through more than 14 countries, from alpine villages in Austria to beachfront villas in Indonesia. Our daughter has grown up somewhere between departure gates and hotel breakfasts, and we've grown alongside her — a little more patient, a lot more curious.
Our Six Footprints is our honest record of those journeys: what we did, what surprised us, what we would change, and the small moments that mattered most.
These aren't taglines. They're the questions we actually ask ourselves when we're planning a trip or writing it up afterward.
We write about places the way we actually experienced them — including the parts that didn't go as planned.
Some of our best memories involve strangers — a family who handed us spare metro tickets, an artist painting a lakeside village. People, not just postcards.
We're not counting every euro, and we're not booking suites either. We spend on what makes a place worth remembering, and skip what doesn't.
Every route on this site has been walked at a child's pace — tested for nap times, snack breaks, and tired little legs.

We love hearing from other families planning their own trips.
