On the Road to Lucerne
We boarded the tour bus a little after nine, easing into the day as the journey began. Outside the window, Switzerland unfolded quietly, rolling hills, small villages, and stretches of green that made the ride feel just as meaningful as the destination.
A Quiet Pause – The Lion Monument
Our first stop was the Lion Monument. Carved into stone, it felt still and heavy with emotion. The sculpture honours the Swiss Guards who lost their lives during the French Revolution in 1792, a quiet tribute hidden within the rock.
Lake Views & Old Town Details
From there, we wandered along the edge of Lake Lucerne, letting the water, the light, and the surrounding old town set the pace. Only after soaking in the calm of the city did we continue onward, heading toward Mount Titlis and the promise of higher ground.
Journey Up to Mt. Titlis
From Lucerne, we continued toward Engelberg, and the scenery slowly began to change. The mountains grew closer, rising with each turn of the road.
At Engelberg, we boarded the rotating Titlis Rotair gondola. As it climbed higher, the view shifted with every rotation valleys below, peaks ahead, and a quiet sense of anticipation building.
At the Top – Snow, Sky, and Stillness
At the summit, everything felt wide and open—snow stretching in every direction, the sky hanging low above the peaks.
We warmed up with a simple lunch at the mountain restaurant, sitting by the window and watching clouds drift past. It was one of those rare moments where you slow down without even trying.
A Little Adventure in the Snow
After lunch, we stepped back out into the cold and explored a bit more. The Glacier Cave, glowing softly in blue, felt almost unreal.
We walked across the Cliff Walk, holding on tightly but laughing through it, and took the Ice Flyer over deep crevasses below. It was just the right mix of thrill and wonder.
Snow tubing at Glacier Park became the highlight, simple, fun, and full of laughter. The kind of moment that stays long after the day ends.
Ending the Day Light and Full
By the time we made our way down, our cheeks were cold, our steps slower, but our hearts full.
It had been a long day, but an easy one filled with quiet views, small discoveries, and just enough adventure to make it memorable
